| In the world of MATHURIN EMMANUEL, bad things .. even terrible things hap-pen. But love, compassion, family togetherness and faith in God can be counted on to overcome all obstacles and heal the wounds. Her first movie, RIBBONS OF BLUE, depicted a single mother's struggles and sacrifices to raise an ungrateful daughter; ashamed of her mother's humble status. Nonetheless, the mother used up her lifetime savings to send her daughter overseas to uni-versity. However, shamed, and unable to complete her education to her untimely pregnancy, she hits rock bottom, and was forced to return to her mother's long suffering, welcoming arms. In her second movie, TROU-BLED WATERS, she brought us an astoundingly beautiful, yet shockingly disturbing film about the devastating effects of child abuse and the healing powers of love. And, now, in NANA'S PARADISE, her portrayal of a boy and his family overcoming all obsta-cles to emerge triumphantly is nothing less than a testament to the strength, resilience and triumph of the human spirit over all odds. |

NANA'S PARADISE firmly establishes MATHURIN EMMANUEL - along, with her film company, IYANOLA PICTURES - as the pioneer of the S. Lucia film industry. RIBBONS OF BLUE was the
